Prepared for Richard Jarocki
OVERVIEW
This Barcelona itinerary combines architecture, Catalan culture, destination dining, cocktail bars, and the Spanish Grand Prix at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. ----------------------------------------
JUNE 8 – ARRIVAL DAY
Theme: Arrival, Gaudí, and a refined first dinner
Arrival day should stay controlled. The objective is to settle into Barcelona, adjust to the time change, get oriented around Passeig de Gràcia, and avoid overloading the first day before the heavier dining and Formula 1 schedule begins.
Schedule
9:00 AM – Arrive at Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN)
Transfer to Sir Victor Hotel
Check in or leave luggage
Late morning / lunch – Walk Passeig de Gràcia and have a light lunch nearby
2:15 PM – Sagrada Família Fast Track Guided Tour | Confirmed | 2 Adults | Semi-private, max 9 guests
5:00 PM – Return to the hotel, freshen up, and reset
6:45 PM – Mont Bar | Confirmed | 2 Guests
Evening – Walk Passeig de Gràcia or return early to the hotel
Key Addresses
Sir Victor Hotel – Rosselló 265, 08008 Barcelona
Sagrada Família – Carrer de Mallorca 401, 08013 Barcelona
Mont Bar – Carrer de la Diputació 220, 08011 Barcelona
Notes
Keep lunch light. Mont Bar is the important meal of the day.
Passeig de Gràcia is the ideal first-day area because it is elegant, easy to navigate, and close to the hotel.
This is not the night to chase extra cocktail bars unless energy is genuinely high.
----------------------------------------
JUNE 9 – MONTSERRAT & WINE COUNTRY
Theme: Catalan mountain culture, monastery visit, wine, and tapas
Montserrat gives the trip a cultural anchor outside the city. It is one of Catalonia’s most recognizable landscapes and an important religious and historical destination. The wine component balances the day and keeps it from feeling like a standard sightseeing excursion.
Schedule
Morning – Montserrat excursion
Cogwheel train experience
Monastery visit
Wine tasting
Tapas lunch
Afternoon – Return to Barcelona
Late afternoon – Relax at the hotel
Evening – Casual dinner near Sir Victor or explore Gràcia
What to Expect
Montserrat is elevated and more rugged than central Barcelona. Comfortable shoes are the right call. A light jacket is useful, especially if the weather shifts in the mountains.
Evening Strategy
Do not over-program the night. After a full day outside the city, Gràcia is a good neighborhood for a relaxed dinner or drink without committing to a major tasting menu.
----------------------------------------
JUNE 10 – DISFRUTAR DAY
Theme: Destination dining and world-class cocktails
This is one of the strongest food-and-beverage days of the trip. Keep the morning easy, arrive at Disfrutar fresh, and do not force a dinner afterward. Paradiso later in the evening gives the day a clean second act without making it too heavy.
Schedule
Morning – Leisurely breakfast
Late morning – Shopping along Passeig de Gràcia
12:30 PM – Disfrutar | Confirmed | 2 Guests
Afternoon – Relax after lunch and explore at your own pace
7:30 PM – Paradiso | Confirmed | Cocktails
Evening – Drinks only; no dinner required
Restaurant Profile: Disfrutar
Address: Carrer de Villarroel 163, 08036 Barcelona
Disfrutar is one of Barcelona’s most internationally recognized restaurants and a major reason to build a culinary trip around the city. The experience is modern, technical, and theatrical without being casual. It should be treated as the main event of the day.
Cocktail Profile: Paradiso
Paradiso is one of Barcelona’s most famous cocktail bars, known for creative presentations and a hidden-entry concept. It pairs well with Disfrutar because it keeps the evening experience-driven without adding another full meal.
Notes
Do not schedule a formal dinner after Disfrutar. It would weaken the day.
This is a good day for strong photos and content: dining, cocktails, and city style all line up well.
----------------------------------------
JUNE 11 – GOTHIC QUARTER, EL BORN & PARK GÜELL
Theme: Old Barcelona, Gaudí, and traditional Catalan dining
This is the most culture-heavy day of the trip. It combines the Gothic Quarter and El Born, a structured tapas and wine tour, Park Güell, and a traditional Catalan dinner at one of Barcelona’s historic restaurants.
Morning
Pick up rental car first thing if needed for the race weekend.
Keep the morning open for recovery, shopping, or light sightseeing.
Schedule
1:00 PM – Barcelona Gothic & El Born Food Tour with Tapas and Wine
5:30 PM – Park Güell Guided Tour
8:30 PM – Can Culleretes Dinner | Confirmed | Party of 4
Late Night Options – SIPS, Dr. Stravinsky, Boadas Cocktails, or FOCO Barcelona depending on energy level
Restaurant Profile: Can Culleretes
Address: Carrer d’en Quintana 5, 08002 Barcelona
Can Culleretes is one of Barcelona’s oldest restaurants and dates back to 1786. This is a traditional Catalan dinner rather than a modern tasting-menu experience. It makes sense on this day because the food tour and dinner both keep the focus on historic Barcelona.
Neighborhood Notes
The Gothic Quarter gives the day a historic feel: narrow streets, old buildings, plazas, and classic Barcelona atmosphere. El Born adds a more stylish food-and-drink layer with bars, boutiques, and restaurants. Park Güell adds the Gaudí component and gives the day a visual landmark.
Logistics
This day is full from early afternoon through late evening. Build in travel time between the food tour and Park Güell. Do not assume movement across the city will be instant.
----------------------------------------
JUNE 12 – FREE DAY, PRACTICE DAY & KRESALA
Theme: Flexible Barcelona day before the heavier race weekend
This day should remain flexible. It can function as a beach, shopping, rooftop, or light track day depending on the final Formula 1 schedule and energy level. The evening anchor is Kresala at 9:15 PM.
Schedule
Morning – Sleep in or attend practice activities at the track
Late morning / afternoon – Shopping, beach, rooftops, or recovery
Optional – Passeig de Gràcia luxury shopping
Optional – Barceloneta beach walk or waterfront drinks
Evening – Optional pre-dinner cocktail at SIPS or FOCO
9:15 PM – Kresala | Confirmed | 4 Guests
Restaurant Profile: Kresala
Kresala gives the trip a seafood and Basque-inspired dining angle. This works well after a flexible day because it is substantial enough to feel like a proper dinner but not as rigid as a major tasting-menu reservation.
Recommended Day Use
If the track schedule is light, use the day to reset before Saturday and Sunday. If practice sessions are a priority, keep the afternoon and early evening simple so the dinner still feels relaxed.
----------------------------------------
JUNE 13 – SPANISH GRAND PRIX WEEKEND
Theme: Circuit day, qualifying energy, and classic Barcelona seafood
Saturday should be treated as a serious Formula 1 day. Traffic, parking, crowds, and return logistics matter. Leave earlier than feels necessary. The evening dinner at Botafumeiro is the right move because it gives the day a classic Barcelona finish after the circuit.
Schedule
Morning – Depart for Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
Day – Formula 1 activities
Practice / Qualifying
Merchandise shopping
Explore the circuit
Return to hotel
Shower and change
8:00 PM – Botafumeiro | Confirmed | 4 Guests
Restaurant Profile: Botafumeiro
Address: Carrer Gran de Gràcia 81, 08012 Barcelona
Botafumeiro is a Barcelona seafood institution known for shellfish, whole fish, and a polished old-school dining room. This is the correct restaurant for a post-track dinner because it feels established, celebratory, and local without being experimental.
Recommended Order
Shellfish platter
Langoustines
Whole fish
Albariño wine
Circuit Notes
Expect congestion leaving the circuit. Build in enough time before dinner.
Buy merchandise earlier in the day before the most crowded periods.
Carry sunscreen, sunglasses, water, and a portable charger.
----------------------------------------
JUNE 14 – RACE DAY
Theme: Spanish Grand Prix and final Barcelona night
Race day is the peak of the trip. The schedule should be simple, controlled, and logistics-first. The priority is getting to the circuit early, enjoying the Grand Prix, and not fighting unnecessary timing pressure afterward.
Schedule
Morning – Breakfast
Early departure to Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
Race Day – Spanish Grand Prix
Evening – Celebration dinner or relaxed post-race drinks in Barcelona
Late Night Options – SIPS or FOCO for a final Barcelona cocktail night
Race Day Strategy
Leave early. Race-day traffic is not the place to gamble.
Bring sunscreen, water, sunglasses, portable charger, and comfortable shoes.
Expect heavy outbound traffic after the race. Do not book anything too tight immediately after the event.
Evening Strategy
Keep the celebration flexible. After a full race day, the best move may be a strong cocktail bar rather than another heavy dinner.
----------------------------------------
JUNE 15 – DEPARTURE
Theme: Controlled departure and clean exit
Departure day should be simple. The only objective is to leave Barcelona without stress. If there is time, use the morning for breakfast, a final walk, or last-minute shopping near the hotel.
Schedule
Morning – Breakfast
Pack and check out
Transfer to Barcelona Airport
Flight home: Barcelona to Newark
Departure Notes
Arrive early for the international flight.
Handle VAT refunds before check-in if applicable.
Keep passports, receipts, and travel documents accessible.
Do not schedule anything complicated on departure morning.

FINAL NOTES
This itinerary is intentionally balanced. The strongest days are Disfrutar and Paradiso, the Gothic Quarter and Can Culleretes, and the Spanish Grand Prix weekend. The flexible sections should stay flexible. The trip works best when the major reservations remain protected and the optional bars are added only when energy and timing make sense.
